Fall Festivities at Cambria Nursery: Pumpkin Patch, Scarecrows & Family Fun

Aug 27, 2026 | Fall

There’s something special about fall in Cambria. The days grow a little crisper, pumpkins begin appearing around town, and the annual Scarecrow Festival brings plenty of personality to the Central Coast. At Cambria Nursery, we love getting into the spirit of the season, too.

If you’re looking for fall activities in Cambria that the whole family can enjoy, come spend some time with us. Wander through our pumpkin patch, visit the animals, explore the gardens, shop the Farmstand and Gift Shops, and keep an eye out for scarecrows and autumn photo spots along the way.

Here are a few things to look forward to during a fall visit to Cambria Nursery.

Find Your Perfect Pumpkin

Nothing says fall quite like bringing home the perfect pumpkin.

Our pumpkin patch is filled with locally grown pumpkins from 46 Ranch, from traditional orange favorites to heirloom varieties with unusual shapes, colors, and plenty of character. Whether you’re searching for a pumpkin to carve, something delicious for the kitchen, or a collection to decorate the front porch, half the fun is wandering through the patch until you find just the right one.

Bring the kids and let everyone choose a favorite. A collection of different sizes, shapes, and colors also makes an easy, naturally beautiful fall display.

Meet the Goats and Chickens

For younger visitors, and quite a few grown-ups, a trip to see our farm friends is always a highlight.

Our two playful Nigerian Dwarf goats and cheerful flock of chickens are ready to greet visitors throughout the season. Stop by to say hello and enjoy feeding them while you’re here.

It’s one of those simple experiences that makes an afternoon at the nursery memorable: pumpkins, gardens, animals, and time outdoors together.

See Cambria’s Famous Scarecrows

October in Cambria wouldn’t be complete without scarecrows.

The annual Cambria Scarecrow Festival transforms the community with creative, funny, and sometimes wonderfully unexpected characters. Cambria Nursery joins in the fun with scarecrow displays of our own.

Make the nursery one of your stops as you explore the scarecrows around Cambria. Take your time, see what catches your eye, and be sure to snap a few photos along the way.

Take a Fall Stroll Through the Gardens

You don’t need a packed itinerary to enjoy fall at Cambria Nursery. Sometimes the best part of a visit is simply wandering.

Follow the garden paths, enjoy the seasonal color, discover what’s blooming, and take in the changing displays around the nursery. Fall’s softer light and crisp coastal air make this an especially lovely time to slow down and explore.

There are plenty of pretty corners for family photos, too. Between the pumpkins, plants, scarecrows, and seasonal displays, you may find this year’s holiday-card photo while you’re here.

Bring the Harvest Home from the Farmstand

Before you leave, stop by the Farmstand for a taste of the season.

Along with pumpkins, you can browse farm-fresh produce grown at 46 Ranch, including tomatoes, peppers, onions, and avocados, plus pasture-raised eggs. Seasonal treats such as kettle corn make a fun addition to a fall afternoon at the nursery.

It’s an easy way to take a little bit of the Central Coast harvest home with you.

Want the Full Pumpkin Patch Experience? Visit 46 Ranch

Wondering where the pumpkins at Cambria Nursery begin? They’re grown at our sister property, 46 Ranch, just down the road in Templeton.

For an even bigger taste of fall on the Central Coast, make a trip to the 46 Ranch Pumpkin Patch. Wander among colorful pre-picked pumpkins, meet the farm animals, take a hay wagon farm tour, and enjoy activities including a jump pad, rubber ducky races, train rides, the Witch’s Path, gold panning and gem mining, pumpkin and apple cannons, and stop for a family photo.

It’s a fun way to see the connection between the farm and Cambria Nursery, and turn pumpkin picking into a full fall adventure.

Discover Fall Décor and Gifts

Autumn continues inside our Gift Shops, where you’ll find seasonal décor, cozy accents, and one-of-a-kind treasures for your home.

If your porch, table, or entryway could use a little fall refresh, spend some time browsing the displays for inspiration. You may find just the right finishing touch or a thoughtful seasonal gift for someone else.

And because this is Cambria Nursery, there’s always something unexpected waiting around the next corner.

Make Something at a Fall Workshop

Want to do more than browse? Plan your visit around one of our seasonal workshops.

Led by Cambria Nursery’s garden experts, our hands-on classes are an opportunity to learn something new, get creative, and leave with a finished project of your own. Materials are included in the workshop fee, making it easy to gather a friend or family member and turn a class into a fall outing.

View our workshop calendar to see what’s coming up.
