Fall in Cambria wouldn’t be complete without the beloved Cambria Scarecrow Festival, and this year, Cambria Nursery is proud to once again be part of the fun! Since its debut in 2009, this whimsical event has become one of the most anticipated autumn traditions, drawing visitors from near and far to experience the creativity and charm of the scarecrows that line our streets.
What is the Cambria Scarecrow Festival?
Every October, hundreds of imaginative scarecrows fill the seaside villages of Cambria and San Simeon. From October 1 through October 31, scarecrows of all shapes, sizes, and personalities take over, turning everyday spaces into a magical, festive display of creativity. These scarecrows, crafted by local businesses, artists, and community members, embody the spirit of fall in our beautiful coastal region.
The festival has gained national attention over the years, being featured in media outlets such as the Los Angeles Times, and more. It’s also been named one of USA Today’s top 10 autumn festivals and is highlighted by The Travel Channel as one of the top scarecrow festivals in the U.S. and Canada.

At Cambria Nursery, we take pride in crafting enchanting scarecrow displays that capture the beauty of the season and showcase our love for the outdoors, both at the Nursery and our Downtown Store & Cafe. Whether you’re visiting the Nursery for gardening inspiration or simply want to enjoy the creativity of our scarecrow exhibit, we invite you to explore our festive grounds this October.

This year, we’re thrilled to invite you to experience our brand-new pumpkin patch, where you can wander through a charming display of locally grown pumpkins from our sister property, The 46 Ranch. Imagine strolling under the autumn sun, searching for the perfect pumpkin—whether it’s for carving, cooking, or adding a festive touch to your home. As you explore, don’t miss the chance to say hello to our newest residents, two playful Nigerian dwarf goats! Their playful antics and friendly faces are sure to bring an extra dose of joy to your fall outing.
Salute the Scarecrow Party on October 26
One of the highlights of the festival is the Salute the Scarecrow Party, hosted by the Cambria Scarecrow Festival, a special celebration taking place on October 26 at Cambria Nursery. This lively event will bring the community together for a night filled with music, delicious food, and wine from local restaurants and wineries.
Participating restaurants include Cambria Pines Lodge, Indigo Moon, Linn’s, Madeline’s, and more! While wineries like Moonstone Cellars, Hearst Ranch Winery, and many more will offer a taste of their delicious wines!
Attendees are encouraged to dress in costume (though it’s not required), with prizes awarded for the best dressed. Live music will keep the atmosphere festive, making this a night to remember! Tickets for the event are $75, and all proceeds go toward funding the annual Cambria Scarecrow Festival.
